TRAINING WOMEN LEADERS IN THE TOOLS OF BEHAVIOR CHANGE

New View Media just completed delivery of a 6-Module online course in Social and Behavior Change Communications (SBCC) for the Vital Voices Global Partnership's fellowship program for women leaders, VVLead.  Over 200 fellows from all over the world participate in the program that supports a global network of emerging and established women leaders through mentorship and training. Virginia Williams, the Course Developer and Presenter, said of the experience: "These are an impressive group of women change-makers, working in some very challenging environments, but all of them great problem solvers and innovators. I really enjoyed hearing about all the ways they're going to put this new knowledge into practice to transform their communities for the better."

Late last year, Virginia Williams was in South Sudan, acting as Communications Strategist for the Government of South Sudan's Local Governance and Service Delivery Project, funded by the World Bank. To be rolled out country-wide over 5 years, the project aims to increase the development of service delivery through the local government at the county level, by empowering citizens through elected committees to prioritize their needs and choose development projects for their own communities.  Virginia wrote a comprehensive 5-year Communications Plan for the project that mirrors the project itself, via participatory communication activities that encourage community engagement, accountability, and stewardship.
WHAT IS THE FAITH EFFECT?

New View Media is pleased to have worked as a BCC Consultant with the Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty on the "Faith Effect," individualized curricula and toolkits for Muslim, Protestant and Catholic faith leaders to educate and engage their congregations about Feminine Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Early Marriage Prevention, as well as an HIV Prevention using  pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Pilot programs are underway in Sub-Saharan Africa and funded by the Nike Foundation and the Gates Foundation, respectively.
PERIL OR PROTECTION? MAKE WORK SAFE CAMPAIGN

New View Media created the  Women's Refugee Commission's  "Peril or Protection: Making Work Safe"  campaign.  The campaign engaged hundreds of  humanitarian programmers, practitioners and donors working in livelihoods and gender-based violence prevention.  The campaign featured a webinar launch, blogger series and photo contest to encourage conversation on the topic of safe livelihoods.  Over 100 people took the WRC e-learning course to make their programs better, and safer for women.  Visit the campaign page to learn more.
